Nottingham SC is based on a broad section of the River Trent and has an active Comet fleet. The club facilities are great, and launching is easy. This is not the norm of river sailing - there is plenty of room, little current (except in flood conditions), and the course is quite long.

Comet opens at Cransley are always well-attended. This is also a regular Championship venue for the Comets, and we will be returning in 2025 for the Association Championship. This is the 2nd time the fleet has been invited to race at Eyott. The racing takes place in an area of the river very close to Up River YC, where an open meeting is being held the following day. Due to tide issues there will be 2 back to back races rather than […]
The day before we have the open at Eyott SC, which uses the same stretch of water and an adjoining creek. You can sail between the clubs. There is free camping available This is a special venue, and well worth the trip to get there. It is tidal, with strong currents. It has "cans" […]

Bristol Avon is a small, friendly, river club where quite a few Comets race. The wind can be very tricky, but this makes the Comet an ideal dinghy to sail here due its manoeuvrability. If there are enough attendees then the fleet would be split into two with separate starts, otherwise the start line would […]
